Time to Get Started
Your first visit usually lasts about 45 minutes. Dress comfortably and bring the following information with you:
- The paperwork you filled out at home
- Your insurance information
- Any x-rays or medical records related to whatever brought you to us, if you have them
- Information about supplements you take and your daily routine and activities
Let’s start with your consultation! We want to get to know you and learn why you came to see us. Next, we’ll do a physical exam to learn more about your needs. Depending on what we find and whether or not you already have them, we might send you for x-rays. If we don’t see a need for x-rays, we will likely perform a light adjustment and maybe some therapy on your first visit. Time permitting we’ll do a foot scan to learn more about how your body bears weight.
Come to Your Second Visit to Get Your Report
Your second visit should last about 30 minutes. We’ll go share our report of findings. We’ll tell you what we learned from the exam and review the x-rays with you. It’s important to us to make sure you understand what the problem is and how we think it should be addressed. Together, we will discuss your goals. Do you want acute care or corrective care?
What Will Your Follow up Visits Look Like?
The time you’ll spend at subsequent visits will vary depending on whether it is a simple adjustment or an adjustment combined with therapy. It could be a short as 15 minutes or as long as an hour. We’ll be able to tell you more specifically once we have agreed on a treatment plan.
How Many Visits Will It Take?
One of our most frequently asked questions from our patients is, “How many appointments will I have to have?”
Truthfully, there is no set answer. You will be treated as a unique individual. The amount of time it takes to relieve pain and return to function is different for everybody. Even if you come in for corrective care, the maintenance necessary to uphold the adjustment varies by individual.
